The audience thought a goal was coming when Nelsinho Saldanha got free with Acácio Falcão in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 12 minutes into the game, Humberto de Azevedo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Joel Dias was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. M1TO RC's Joel Dias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humberto de Azevedo in the 44th minute of play. A collision led to M1TO RC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Narciso Berger hit a great ball. In the 48th minute Humberto de Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Dias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nelsinho Saldanha to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Nelsinho Saldanha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. M1TO RC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave E.C. XVI De Março the free kick. A collision led to M1TO RC getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Nelsinho Saldanha hit a great ball. In the 73rd minute, Geovânio Luz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 74 played minutes M1TO RC got a freekick which was hit by Paulinho Rosa. 1-2 became the score in the 77th minute when Humberto de Azevedo elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nelsinho Saldanha in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Acácio Falcão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Joel Dias stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Humberto de Azevedo's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. In the 86th minute, Humberto de Azevedo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joel Dias was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Nelsinho Saldanha struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Acácio Falcão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for M1TO RC. In the 96th minute, Geovânio Luz made a precise shot to the right of Joel Dias. M1TO RC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. Chants of E.C. XVI De Março echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as M1TO RC had held the ball for most of the match.
