Manthiqueira's Wilson Corrêa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adelino Santos in the 7th minute of play. A collision led to Manthiqueira getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Afonsinho Furtado hit a great ball. Wilson Corrêa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Arantes in the 14th minute of play. After having played for 22 minutes, Rubinho Britto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ipanana's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rubinho Britto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Adelino Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adelino Santos in the 29th minute of play forced Manthiqueira's goalkeeper Wilson Corrêa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Rubinho Vinhas fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Manthiqueira's protests and gave Rubinho Vinhas a yellow card for diving instead. Rubinho Vinhas kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. 40 minutes into the game, Conrado Reis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ipanana's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Manthiqueira the free kick. Antônio Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Válbson Montenegro having to interfere. Ipanana's Válbson Montenegro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Ipanana from getting a goal against them.

The wind increased when Ruy de Sousa made the kick off in the second half. Ruy de Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Válbson Montenegro having to interfere. Rubinho Britto hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Paulo Renato Rodrigues was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 62nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 63rd match minute, Ipanana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conrado Reis to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruy de Sousa in the 66th minute of play forced Ipanana's goalkeeper Válbson Montenegro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 67 minutes into the match, Ipanana's goal looked a bit too open when Ruy de Sousa came free, but Válbson Montenegro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 1-1 became the score in the 69th minute when Adelino Santos elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Antônio Gomes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 79 minutes into the match, Ipanana's goal looked a bit too open when Ruy de Sousa came free, but Válbson Montenegro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilson Corrêa made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Cristian Arantes sent off a good shot on target. Cristian Arantes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Wilson Corrêa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Adelino Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adelino Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ipanana were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
