Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Ruy de Sousa started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Mazinho Vander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Wilson Corrêa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A very good chance. 18 minutes into the game, Ruy de Sousa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Magno de Alcântara was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 21 minutes, Emerson Travassos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nhangapi SC and the Manthiqueira players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 22nd match minute, Nhangapi SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emerson Travassos to maneuver through the defense. Daniel de Queirós recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Mazinho Vander's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wilson Corrêa was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. In the 37thth minute of the game Mazinho Vander who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Manthiqueira's Wilson Corrêa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Wilson Corrêa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mazinho Vander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rubinho Vinhas during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Nhangapi SC booed when Manthiqueira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rubinho Vinhas didn't get a good kick on the ball. During the 43rd minute of the match Rubinho Vinhas completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Rubinho Vinhas a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Nhangapi SC booed when Manthiqueira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rubinho Vinhas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Meirelles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson Corrêa having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mazinho Vander to make the kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Daniel de Queirós notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Manthiqueira's Wilson Corrêa. Wilson Corrêa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Wilson Corrêa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mazinho Vander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ruy de Sousa kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. In the 67th minute, José Carlos Mangueira sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Manthiqueira's Wilson Corrêa didn't even have to move. After 72 minutes, Daniel de Queirós made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Manthiqueira's Wilson Corrêa tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 75 minutes into the match, Manthiqueira's goal looked a bit too open when Mazinho Vander came free, but Wilson Corrêa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mazinho Vander recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 81 minutes into the game, Cristian Meirelles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nhangapi SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Manthiqueira the free kick. After 81 played minutes Nhangapi SC got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Meirelles. Magno de Alcântara made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antônio Gomes in the 82nd minute. Jailson Lira charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jailson Lira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Manthiqueira getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Jailson Lira hit a great ball. Wilson Corrêa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel de Queirós in the 91st minute of play. After some careless play in the Manthiqueira defense, Daniel de Queirós kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilson Corrêa. The Manthiqueira fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilson Corrêa should have stopped the shot. If Mazinho Vander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
