David Romero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 11 played minutes Villa das Conchas SC got a freekick which was hit by Antônio Machado. Marcos Quirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artur Leme in the 12th minute of play. A collision led to Villa das Conchas SC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Jacinto de Senna hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Villa das Conchas SC's zone, Artur Leme stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcos Quirino came out of the goal and Artur Leme tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Álvaro Rodrigues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Fantini having to interfere. RUBRO-NEGRO's Frank Fantini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacinto de Senna in the 28th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Villa das Conchas SC's goal looked a bit too open when David Romero came free, but Marcos Quirino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Jacinto de Senna came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Villa das Conchas SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacinto de Senna couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Villa das Conchas SC's Patrick de Carvalho got a free kick in the 44th minute. In the 45th minute of the match Eurico Chaves shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcos Quirino showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Frank Fantini came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Villa das Conchas SC's Bernardinho da Fonseca. But to his dismay, Bernardinho da Fonseca quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. The supporters of RUBRO-NEGRO booed when Villa das Conchas SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antônio Machado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcos Quirino made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Artur Leme sent off a good shot on target. In the 70th minute of the match Patrick de Carvalho shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Frank Fantini showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When RUBRO-NEGRO's David Romero in 73 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Marcos Quirino guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. In the 74th minute, Antônio Machado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcos Quirino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Romero in the 76th minute of the match. Frank Fantini showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacinto de Senna, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. After having played for 86 minutes, Jacinto de Senna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Villa das Conchas SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jacinto de Senna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Patrick de Carvalho hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. In the 95th minute, Eurico Chaves sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Villa das Conchas SC's Marcos Quirino didn't even have to move. In the 97th minute of the match, David Romero tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Marcos Quirino saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Villa das Conchas SC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
