Cipriano Mazza didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Olívio Alves went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Cipriano Mazza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliézer Santana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 27 minutes into the game, Sidnei da Fonseca was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Santos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Brama the free kick. In the 27th minute, Sidnei da Fonseca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vladimir Tinoco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Belmiro Trancoso in the 31st minute. Eliézer Santana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 34 minutes into the match, Dedé Vaz notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Brama's Vladimir Tinoco. After a rather tough play, Santos FC's Belmiro Trancoso got a free kick in the 46th minute. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eliézer Santana was the one to do the kick off. In the 58th match minute, Santos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vito Mota to maneuver through the defense. Romeu Rossi hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Belmiro Trancoso in the 65th minute of play forced Brama's goalkeeper Vladimir Tinoco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Santos FC's Dedé Vaz got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Eliézer Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 70th minute Dedé Vaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vladimir Tinoco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brama's Eliézer Santana got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 85 minutes, André Teixeira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Santos FC and the Brama players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 85 played minutes Santos FC got a freekick which was hit by André Teixeira. 89 minutes into the match, Santos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Eliézer Santana came free, but Cipriano Mazza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brama's Eliézer Santana got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 93rd minute, Romeu Rossi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
