After some careless play in the Helvecia SC defense, Otávio Lago kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luiz Guilherme Oliveira. The Helvecia SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luiz Guilherme Oliveira should have stopped the shot. Claudinho Bittencourt made in the 29th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Osvaldinho Mesquita immediately put the ball in play. Luiz Guilherme Oliveira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hortêncio Mandrak went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. If Hortêncio Mandrak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Afonso Toledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fabiano dos Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Luiz Guilherme Oliveira came out of the goal and Hortêncio Mandrak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Helvecia SC's Luiz Guilherme Oliveira got control of the ball when Hortêncio Mandrak tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Meninos da Vila had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
