Genílson Falcão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zeca Soeiro in the 4th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tostão Maia got free with Luiz Guilherme Oliveira in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Hélio Arce managed to get in a good position for a shot. Helvecia SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Hélio Arce was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Genílson Falcão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Inhaumense FC's zone, Hélio Arce stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Genílson Falcão came out of the goal and Hélio Arce tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luiz Guilherme Oliveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wellington Quadros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 21st minute, Hélio Arce left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Helvecia SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 27th minute, Helvecia SC's Kauã Pimenta seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Kauã Pimenta the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Helvecia SC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Kauã Pimenta had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 34 minutes into the match, Inhaumense FC's goal looked a bit too open when Hélio Arce came free, but Genílson Falcão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Luiz Fabiano dos Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Genílson Falcão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélio Arce in the 37th minute of play. If Aílton Lago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Genílson Falcão came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Helvecia SC's Cristiano Vale. But to his dismay, Cristiano Vale quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wellington Quadros to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Inhaumense FC's zone, Hélio Arce stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Genílson Falcão came out of the goal and Hélio Arce tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Chiquinho Romero hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. After 62 minutes, Hélio Pontes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Inhaumense FC and the Helvecia SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Helvecia SC booed when Inhaumense FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hélio Pontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hélio Arce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hélio Arce succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-3 in the 70th playminute. Aílton Lago blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Genílson Falcão having to make a save. Hélio Arce received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Genílson Falcão came out and tried to block the shot, but Hélio Arce slotted it home off the left post making it 2-4 in the 83rd minute. A collision led to Inhaumense FC getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Hélio Pontes hit a great ball. Helvecia SC's Osvaldinho Mesquita got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Aílton Lago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over Helvecia SC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Inhaumense FC throughout the match.
