After a defensive mix-up in Inhaumense FC's zone, João Augusto Ribeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Genílson Falcão came out of the goal and João Augusto Ribeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dedeco fc's Eliseu de Amorim got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 7 minutes, João Augusto Ribeiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dedeco fc and the Inhaumense FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 8th minute Wellington Quadros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Júlio Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Wellington Quadros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st match minute, Dedeco fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Augusto Ribeiro to maneuver through the defense. In the 24th minute, Reginaldo Ferreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that João Augusto Ribeiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Genílson Falcão was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. 34 minutes into the game, Fausto Nóbrega was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dedeco fc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eliseu de Amorim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jonas Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Júlio Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Wellington Quadros in the 95th minute of play forced Dedeco fc's goalkeeper Júlio Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dedeco fc's Eliseu de Amorim got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 98 minutes into the match, Inhaumense FC's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseu de Amorim came free, but Genílson Falcão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
