José Carlos Moura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Toledo having to interfere. When Hortêncio Mandrak fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Meninos da Vila's protests and gave Hortêncio Mandrak a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Meninos da Vila getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Hortêncio Mandrak hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hortêncio Mandrak in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gustavo Mesquita saved JV&M Esporte e Açao from getting behind. A collision led to JV&M Esporte e Açao getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Alexsandro Matos hit a great ball. Silvinho Breckenfeld sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Meninos da Vila's Cacá de Sousa got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Hortêncio Mandrak scored 0-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gustavo Mesquita, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 35th match minute, Meninos da Vila was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caetano Massa to maneuver through the defense. When Zé Roberto Moreira fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored JV&M Esporte e Açao's protests and gave Zé Roberto Moreira a yellow card for diving instead. Zé Roberto Moreira kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. The supporters of JV&M Esporte e Açao booed when Meninos da Vila was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caetano Massa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gustavo Mesquita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Otávio Lago in the 41st minute of play. Hortêncio Mandrak recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 44th minute, Leandro Galvão reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Afonso Toledo. The goal made the score 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hortêncio Mandrak was the one to do the kick off. Hortêncio Mandrak's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gustavo Mesquita read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. After 73 minutes, Alexsandro Matos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the JV&M Esporte e Açao and the Meninos da Vila players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 73 played minutes JV&M Esporte e Açao got a freekick which was hit by Alexsandro Matos. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clóvis Furtado in the 77th minute of play forced Meninos da Vila's goalkeeper Afonso Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 80th minute Clóvis Furtado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonso Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th minute, Meninos da Vila's Wilson Silveira seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Wilson Silveira the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Meninos da Vila protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Wilson Silveira had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Meninos da Vila fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 83rd minute. Penalty! After a defensive mix-up in JV&M Esporte e Açao's zone, Geovanni do Vale stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustavo Mesquita came out of the goal and Geovanni do Vale tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hortêncio Mandrak blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gustavo Mesquita having to make a save.
