In the 8th minute Zeca Soeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilson da Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 11 minutes of play, Helvecia SC's Aílton Lago made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gilson da Rocha was left in no man's land by his defense there! A hard shot 18 in the game by Hélio Arce from a close distance when the talented Gilson da Rocha managed to make a qualified save. BERTOLDO FUTEBOL CLUB's players were relieved. Helvecia SC's Hélio Arce managed to work through BERTOLDO FUTEBOL CLUB's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Hélio Arce dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. BERTOLDO FUTEBOL CLUB's Gilson da Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hélio Arce in the 23rd minute of play. If Zeca Soeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Alves in the 28th minute of play forced Helvecia SC's goalkeeper Luiz Guilherme Oliveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hélio Arce in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilson da Rocha saved BERTOLDO FUTEBOL CLUB from getting behind. Gilson da Rocha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hélio Arce, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind BERTOLDO FUTEBOL CLUB's goalkeeper Gilson da Rocha, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gilson da Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélio Arce in the 39th minute of play. Hélio Arce in the 41stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Gilson da Rocha, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Francisco Alves managed to get in a good position for a shot. BERTOLDO FUTEBOL CLUB's supporters rose to their feet, but Francisco Alves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Guilherme Oliveira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

A very good chance for a goal. In the 57th minute, Hélio Arce got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Osvaldinho Mesquita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gilson da Rocha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hélio Arce's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. When the match had gone on for 66 minutes, Hélio Arce put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Gilson da Rocha. In the 71st minute, Zeca Soeiro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gilson da Rocha was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Luiz Guilherme Oliveira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Claudinei Trancoso in the 81st minute. Luiz Guilherme Oliveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Alves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hélio Arce in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gilson da Rocha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Helvecia SC's Osvaldinho Mesquita managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by José Carlos Martins in the 87 minute of the game. José Carlos Martins hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Gilson da Rocha came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Helvecia SC's Hélio Arce. But to his dismay, Hélio Arce quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Waldemar Capixaba took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 95th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gilson da Rocha. BERTOLDO FUTEBOL CLUB's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Helvecia SC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
