Ribeirão Preto FC's Josué Berger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dinei Torres in the 18th minute of play. Caetano Galvão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zé Paulo Goiano in the 24th minute. A collision led to Caio Costa Club getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Remo Donatello hit a great ball. With a little luck, Caio Costa Club's Caetano Galvão got control of the ball when David Massa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Geovânio Nogueira succeeded in the game's 35th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-3. Silas Vidal scored 0-4 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Josué Berger, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

After having played for 52 minutes, Ricardinho Neto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ribeirão Preto FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ricardinho Neto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Josué Berger was out of position in the 57 minute of play, and Gil Velasco capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gil Velasco really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. Josué Berger made an important save on a dangerous shot by Geovânio Nogueira in the 65th minute. In the 66th minute, Jonathan Duarte hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fausto Teles hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. After 72 played minutes, Ribeirão Preto FC's Lauro Vargas shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Caetano Galvão came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ribeirão Preto FC reached it. Caetano Galvão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Massa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ribeirão Preto FC's Josué Berger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fausto Teles in the 75th minute of play. In the 77th minute, Gil Velasco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Silas Vidal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Josué Berger having to make a save. Geovânio Nogueiras short, quick shot in the 83rdth minute got Josué Berger to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Fausto Teles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fausto Teles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josué Berger having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Ribeirão Preto FC's zone, Geovânio Nogueira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Josué Berger came out of the goal and Geovânio Nogueira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Silas Vidal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Josué Berger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Caio Costa Club's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
