Wilson Lopez came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Ribeirão Preto FC's David Massa. But to his dismay, David Massa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 18thth minute of the game Cléber Baiano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ribeirão Preto FC's Josué Berger was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vitório Gerber kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. After having played for 25 minutes, David Massa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ribeirão Preto FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Massa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. David Massa struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Wilson Lopez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ribeirão Preto FC. A collision led to Ribeirão Preto FC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Tiago Furtado hit a great ball. In the 32nd minute Cléber Baiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Josué Berger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 53rd match minute, Mengo Noite SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amauri da Silveira to maneuver through the defense. In the 55th minute, David Massa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Ribeirão Preto FC's Josué Berger got control of the ball when Amauri da Silveira tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Amauri da Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
