Abel Sá's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Josué Berger read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. David Massa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Júpiter FC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. André Luiz Mangueira hit a great ball. Erasmo Veiga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardinho Neto in the 22nd minute of play. After 27 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Júpiter FC! Carlos Fernando Correia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Josué Berger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Júpiter FC's zone, David Massa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erasmo Veiga came out of the goal and David Massa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Josué Berger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Fernando Correia in the 37th minute of play. Erasmo Veiga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardinho Neto, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Ricardinho Neto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Júpiter FC's André Luiz Mangueira got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Ricardinho Neto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Erasmo Veiga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Teodoro Leão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carlos Fernando Correia was the one to do the kick off. Ribeirão Preto FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ricardinho Neto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Abel Sá struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Josué Berger didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Júpiter FC. 74 minutes into the match, Ribeirão Preto FC's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Fernando Correia came free, but Josué Berger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 86th minute Ricardinho Neto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erasmo Veiga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Júpiter FC booed when Ribeirão Preto FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Délio Bueno didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlos Fernando Correia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josué Berger having to interfere. Ricardinho Neto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Ribeirão Preto FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
