In the 20th minute, Manguinhos EC's Váldson Ortiz dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abel Sá in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Celsinho Almeida saved Manguinhos EC from getting behind. Adelino de Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erasmo Veiga having to interfere. Erasmo Veiga was a little too slow when Váldson Ortiz got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 37th minute. The score was now 3-0. Carlos Fernando Correia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. André Luiz Mangueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celsinho Almeida having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, Manguinhos EC's Adelino de Sousa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Erasmo Veiga narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Váldson Ortiz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 55 played minutes Manguinhos EC got a freekick which was hit by Luís Fabiano Furtado. 58 minutes in the game, Carlos Fernando Correia fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Celsinho Almeida having to interfere. 60 minutes into the match, Manguinhos EC's goalkeeper Celsinho Almeida had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abel Sá. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Júpiter FC's goalkeeper Erasmo Veiga, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 63rdth minute of the game Váldson Ortiz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Júpiter FC's Erasmo Veiga was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Erasmo Veiga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adelino de Sousa in the 70th minute of the match. Adelino de Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. In the 87th minute, Váldson Ortiz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Erasmo Veiga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Váldson Ortiz in the 89th minute of play.
