In the 13th minute Edu de Alcântara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Víktor Ortiz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edu de Alcântara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Víktor Ortiz having to interfere. But to his dismay, Chico Cardoso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Fabiano da Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. José Carlos Palmeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chico Cardoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fabiano da Silveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chico Cardoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Fabiano da Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. After the first half Icatu SC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edu de Alcântara to make the kick off. José Carlos Palmeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabiano da Silveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. When Fabiano da Silveira came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Icatu SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabiano da Silveira couldn't finish the play. 58 minutes into the game, Chico Cardoso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. José Carlos Palmeira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 61st minute, Nelsinho Vinhas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 63rd minute, Edu de Alcântara ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Víktor Ortiz was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. After 71 minutes, Luís Fábio França mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Icatu SC and the SOKANELINHAS F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 72 played minutes Icatu SC got a freekick which was hit by Luís Fábio França. Icatu SC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
