José Paulo Pernambucano came out of the goal and Cássio Paraibano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Cássio Paraibano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A.F. Oceânico's José Paulo Pernambucano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save A.F. Oceânico from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Jairo Tepedino's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but José Paulo Pernambucano was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. José Paulo Pernambucano made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Cássio Paraibano sent off a good shot on target. A.F. Oceânico's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Jairo Tepedino 44 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jairo Tepedino was the one to do the kick off. Jairo Tepedino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee ignored Catesporo AD's protests and gave João Vítor Paranaense a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Catesporo AD getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. João Vítor Paranaense hit a great ball. Fernandão Almeida was shown his second yellow card after 95 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Catesporo AD's Jairo Tepedino got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. There was no doubt that Catesporo AD were the better team. Catesporo AD's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
