After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Válbson de Souza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Breja FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Válbson de Souza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frédson da Fonseca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Simão Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alfredão Guerra charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alfredão Guerra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 33 played minutes Breja FC got a freekick which was hit by Alfredão Guerra. Campo Grande F.C's Natanael Correia got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 38th minute of the game. One of Breja FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Campo Grande F.C:s goal. When the match had been going on for 39 minutes, Campo Grande F.C's Nelson Prado got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Leonel Costa. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Simão Lima recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 64 minutes, Sebastião de Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Breja FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sebastião de Brito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 66th minute, Breja FC's Válbson de Souza dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. In the 74th minute, Patrick Motta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leonel Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Simão Lima in the 76th minute of the match. After 80 minutes, Patrick Motta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Campo Grande F.C and the Breja FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 81 played minutes Campo Grande F.C got a freekick which was hit by Patrick Motta. Leonel Costa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simão Lima in the 87th minute of play. Simão Lima recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Campo Grande F.C booed when Breja FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredão Guerra didn't get a good kick on the ball.
