The audience was convinced that Jairo Tepedino's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benedito Lucas was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jairo Tepedino in the 6th minute of play forced Blindão F.C's goalkeeper Benedito Lucas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Blindão F.C getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Kléber Recife hit a great ball. Cássio Paraibano struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Benedito Lucas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Catesporo AD. Benedito Lucas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 21st minute, Jairo Tepedino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jairo Tepedino in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benedito Lucas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Anselmo Félix's late challenge caught a Catesporo AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anselmo Félix helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Catesporo AD booed when Blindão F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anselmo Félix didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Cássio Paraibano came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Catesporo AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cássio Paraibano couldn't finish the play. Kléber Recife hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Jairo Tepedino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 34 played minutes Blindão F.C got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo Félix. Cássio Paraibano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedito Lucas having to interfere. Catesporo AD's César Meirelles proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Catesporo AD from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Blindão F.C's Adalberto Sarmento slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of César Meirelles. That made the score 1-0 after 45 minutes of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adalberto Sarmento to make the kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Gonçalo Luz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Catesporo AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gonçalo Luz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. During the 56th minute of the match Anselmo Félix completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Anselmo Félix a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 56th minute, Anselmo Félix hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Blindão F.C's Benedito Lucas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jairo Tepedino in the 57th minute of play. Catesporo AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marco Lago was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Blindão F.C succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Catesporo AD had controlled the match.
