An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Novaes in the 36th minute of play forced SOROCABA FC's goalkeeper Bruninho Paiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Magno Diniz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladimir da Silveira having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Marco Novaes took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Bruninho Paiva to make any attempt to save it. If Marco Novaes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vladimir da Silveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abelardo Siqueira in the 48th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Arlindo Pinheiro made the kick off in the second half. Bruninho Paiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chico da Fonseca in the 55th minute of the match. Bruninho Paiva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Chico da Fonseca's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Novaes in the 58th minute of play forced SOROCABA FC's goalkeeper Bruninho Paiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Itabapoana fully deserved thier win.
