Selefla's Cícero Ribeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mathias da Costa hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Selefla's goalkeeper Davi Saraiva, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Cícero Ribeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Selefla's supporters rose to their feet, but Cícero Ribeiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wellington da Rocha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sousel EC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Yuri Guerra 30 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. In the 34th minute, Selefla's Yuri Guerra ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Wellington da Rocha. Wellington da Rocha yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. During the 38th minute of the match Marcos Barros completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Marcos Barros a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 46th of the match, Yuri Guerra tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Wellington da Rocha got in the way and made a wonderful save. When Ulysses Godoi came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Sousel EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ulysses Godoi couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Ulysses Godoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Yuri Guerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wellington da Rocha having to interfere. Dé Amaral took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 65th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Wellington da Rocha. Sousel EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Wellington da Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yuri Guerra in the 68th minute of play. Davi Saraiva was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Romário Urbano. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Márcio Bezerra during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Selefla booed when Sousel EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Márcio Bezerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cícero Ribeiro took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wellington da Rocha. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Yuri Guerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 86 minutes, Raí Quadros mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Selefla and the Sousel EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 86 played minutes Selefla got a freekick which was hit by Raí Quadros. When Dé Amaral fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Selefla's protests and gave Dé Amaral a yellow card for diving instead. In the 87th minute, one of Selefla:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Selefla. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yuri Guerra in the 91st minute of play forced Sousel EC's goalkeeper Wellington da Rocha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
