In the 14th minute, Guilherme Alagoano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 15 minutes, Celsinho Torres mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the EXCELSIOR FC and the F.C Renegades players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of EXCELSIOR FC booed when F.C Renegades was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilmar Vale didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th minute, Franklin Mello left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The EXCELSIOR FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 22 minutes into the match, EXCELSIOR FC's goalkeeper Mané Figueiredo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guilherme Alagoano. With a little luck, EXCELSIOR FC's Mané Figueiredo got control of the ball when Guilherme Alagoano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Guilherme Alagoano in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mané Figueiredo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tony Guimarães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Humberto Simões, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Franklin Mello in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tony Guimarães prevented the ball from getting in the gole.

Mané Figueiredo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Guilherme Alagoano's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. If Manfredo Mesquita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guilherme Alagoano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 63rd match minute, F.C Renegades was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flávio Neiva to maneuver through the defense. Franklin Mello succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-2 in the 64th playminute. After a rather tough play, EXCELSIOR FC's Vitório Falcão got a free kick in the 70th minute. Mané Figueiredo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guilherme Alagoano in the 71st minute of play. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Humberto Simões took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Tony Guimarães to make any attempt to save it. Leonel Bastos struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Mané Figueiredo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for F.C Renegades. Guilherme Alagoano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Mané Figueiredo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mané Figueiredo came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by F.C Renegades's David Mendes. But to his dismay, David Mendes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see F.C Renegades lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
