The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mané Figueiredo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guilherme Alagoano in the 20th minute of play forced EXCELSIOR FC's goalkeeper Mané Figueiredo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the game, Humberto Simões recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Tony Guimarães. Humberto Simões showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Tony Guimarães made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Franklin Mello sent off a good shot on target. Franklin Mello could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Tony Guimarães made a huge save. 36 minutes into the match, Guilherme Alagoano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mané Figueiredo. EXCELSIOR FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Guilherme Alagoano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. When Manfredo Mesquita fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored F.C Renegades's protests and gave Manfredo Mesquita a yellow card for diving instead. After 40 played minutes F.C Renegades got a freekick which was hit by Manfredo Mesquita. In the 42nd minute, Humberto Simões fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. EXCELSIOR FC's Franklin Mello got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

In the 79thth minute of the game Guilherme Alagoano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but EXCELSIOR FC's Mané Figueiredo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 80 played minutes EXCELSIOR FC got a freekick which was hit by Guga Meireles. Fernando Paraibano's shot from long distance in the 83rd minute was not bad at all, but EXCELSIOR FC's Mané Figueiredo knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. Tony Guimarães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Franklin Mello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. F.C Renegades's David Mendes got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. F.C Renegades's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because EXCELSIOR FC had won, even though F.C Renegades had held more of the ball.
