The supporters of Mulambo booed when Goytacaz FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonas Coutinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Jonas Coutinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Adilson Baiano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renan Brito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Renan Brito's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adilson Baiano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. Goytacaz FC's Laércio de Souza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Goytacaz FC from getting a goal against them. Mulambo's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
