The audience was convinced that Renan Brito's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Murillo Barreto was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. If Fiori Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Renan Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Murillo Barreto having to interfere. In the 27thth minute of the game Fiori Veiga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Joffily EC's Murillo Barreto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Fiori Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 38 played minutes Goytacaz FC got a freekick which was hit by Jonas Coutinho. Fiori Veiga struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Murillo Barreto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Goytacaz FC. Doni Peres's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Murillo Barreto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. Murillo Barreto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fiori Veiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 45 minutes, Fiori Veiga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Goytacaz FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fiori Veiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fiori Veiga to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Goytacaz FC getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Doni Peres hit a great ball. 53 minutes into the game, Nilmar Mumbach was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Goytacaz FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Joffily EC the free kick. Nilmar Mumbach kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. In the 62nd minute, Jonas Coutinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fiori Veiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Doni Peres struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caio Urbano in the 74th minute of play forced Goytacaz FC's goalkeeper Laércio de Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 77 minutes into the game, Caio Urbano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Laércio de Souza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd rose to their feet as Fiori Veiga kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Murillo Barreto. That made the score 2-1 in the 88 minute of play. Válbson Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Fiori Veiga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Goytacaz FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Fiori Veiga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Murillo Barreto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Joffily EC were victorious despite being under pressure from Goytacaz FC for much of the match.
