VILA NOVA F.C.'s Valdir Xavier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fiori Veiga in the 24th minute of play. 25 minutes into the game, Goytacaz FC's Fiori Veiga nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Valdir Xavier made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Goytacaz FC's Fiori Veiga got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Renan Brito came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Goytacaz FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Renan Brito couldn't finish the play. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind VILA NOVA F.C.'s goalkeeper Valdir Xavier, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fiori Veiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Renan Brito made a kick off. Fiori Veiga succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-2 in the 54th playminute. Renan Brito received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Valdir Xavier came out and tried to block the shot, but Renan Brito slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 58th minute. Laércio de Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedrão Mandrak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valdir Xavier made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fiori Veiga in the 67th minute. In the 70th minute Pedrão Mandrak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laércio de Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Dráuzio de Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Renan Brito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Valdir Xavier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Angelo Berger took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 92nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Valdir Xavier. VILA NOVA F.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.
