The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wilson Palmeira got free with Rogério Secco in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Targaryen's goalkeeper Rogério Secco, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Targaryen getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Natã Pinheiro hit a great ball. Betão de Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rogério Secco having to interfere. 18 minutes into the match, Targaryen's goal looked a bit too open when Cássio Hoffmann came free, but Rogério Secco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerson Linhares in the 20th minute of play forced Silver Star's goalkeeper Valdemar Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 29 minutes of play, Targaryen's Luiz Gustavo Velloso made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Valdemar Almeida was left in no man's land by his defense there! Alessandro Furlan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Valdemar Almeida having to make a save. Luiz Gustavo Velloso's late challenge caught a Silver Star's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luiz Gustavo Velloso helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Targaryen getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Luiz Gustavo Velloso hit a great ball. Cássio Hoffmann struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Rogério Secco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Silver Star. Josué Quadros hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Rogério Secco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cássio Hoffmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gerson Linhares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Valdemar Almeida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

53 minutes had been played when some careless play by Silver Star's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Josué Quadros was slow to take the kick. During this time Targaryen's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Luiz Gustavo Velloso almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Silver Star's Valdemar Almeida did a great save. Valdemar Almeida didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 55th minute, which inside left pole to 0-2. Gerson Linhares was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 61st minute. Targaryen's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Valdemar Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerson Linhares in the 61st minute of play. If Alessandro Furlan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wilson Palmeira hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Targaryen's Gerson Linhares got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Silver Star's Valdemar Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerson Linhares in the 71st minute of play. Alessandro Furlan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alessandro Furlan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdemar Almeida having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves Alessandro Furlan could shoot a difficult shot in the 83rd minute, which Valdemar Almeida however easily saved by the left post. When Alessandro Furlan came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Targaryen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alessandro Furlan couldn't finish the play. Cássio Hoffmann scored 1-2 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rogério Secco, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Silver Star supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Targaryen's performance. The match ended with a win for Targaryen.
