Clube Atlético Mineiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valério Damião was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Natã Pinheiro kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. 34 minutes into the match, Clube Atlético Mineiro's Silvério Pernambucano broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Targaryen's Rogério Secco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Targaryen from getting a goal against them. Valério Damião could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Rogério Secco made a huge save. Rogério Secco made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Valério Damião sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Genílson Castro in the 41st minute of play forced Targaryen's goalkeeper Rogério Secco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alessandro Furlan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 55th match minute, Targaryen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Natã Pinheiro to maneuver through the defense. After 56 played minutes, Clube Atlético Mineiro's Silvério Pernambucano shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rogério Secco came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Clube Atlético Mineiro reached it. If Genílson Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mauro Lago kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Gustavo Gómez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerson Linhares, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Alessandro Furlan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Targaryen's supporters rose to their feet, but Alessandro Furlan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gustavo Gómez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Valério Damião received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Targaryen's Rogério Secco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valério Damião in the 92nd minute of play. Valério Damião sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Clube Atlético Mineiro were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Targaryen to leave the ground with a draw.
