Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Rianopolis's Giuseppe Madureira started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th match minute, Clube Atlético Mineiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cícero da Mata to maneuver through the defense. If Richard Trevisan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 8 minutes, Mauro Lago mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Clube Atlético Mineiro and the Rianopolis players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 8th minute, Mauro Lago hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Carlos Eduardo Recife took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Gustavo Gómez to make any attempt to save it. Claudinei Quirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valério Damião in the 13th minute of play. Gustavo Gómez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carlos Eduardo Recife in the 16th minute. In the 17th minute, Carlos Eduardo Recife got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valério Damião in the 22nd minute of play forced Rianopolis's goalkeeper Claudinei Quirino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Claudinei Quirino didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Valério Damião went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. 35 minutes into the game, Rianopolis's Carlos Eduardo Recife nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gustavo Gómez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 42nd minute, Felipe Carvalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Genílson Castro made the kick off in the second half. When Rianopolis's Giuseppe Madureira in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Clube Atlético Mineiro's goalie prevented a goal. Valério Damião sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gustavo Gómez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Giuseppe Madureira's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. When Rianopolis's Giuseppe Madureira in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Clube Atlético Mineiro's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, Clube Atlético Mineiro's Mauro Lago got a free kick in the 61st minute. Giuseppe Madureira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Gustavo Gómez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Giuseppe Madureira in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gustavo Gómez saved Clube Atlético Mineiro from getting behind. In the 71st minute Carlos Eduardo Recife shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo Gómez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cícero Pires took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gustavo Gómez. Gustavo Gómez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Gustavo Gómez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Eduardo Recife in the 82nd minute of the match. Genílson Castro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Claudinei Quirino having to make a save. 85 minutes into the game, Valério Damião cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. Claudinei Quirino was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 89 played minutes Rianopolis got a freekick which was hit by Cícero Pires. In the 91st minute, Cícero Pires hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Giuseppe Madureira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustavo Gómez having to interfere. 96 minutes into the match, Clube Atlético Mineiro's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Eduardo Recife came free, but Gustavo Gómez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Giuseppe Madureira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gustavo Gómez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 99th minute of play. Rianopolis were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Clube Atlético Mineiro for a fine match.
