Joel Paes's late challenge caught a Tenda's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joel Paes helped the player get up and apologised. In the 27th minute, Joel Paes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 28 played minutes, Tenda's Ivo Ortiz shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Eriberto Cabral came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tenda reached it. Eriberto Cabral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vivaldo Moreira in the 32nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vivaldo Moreira in the 34th minute of play forced Mattosinhos FC's goalkeeper Eriberto Cabral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th minute, Luiz Fabiano Tepedino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tenda fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1.
