The Doguinhos Antifascistas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hortêncio Silva should have stopped the shot. Victor Perez scored 0-2 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hortêncio Silva, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Hortêncio Silva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maicon Pitta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Caetano Cruz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Doguinhos Antifascistas's supporters rose to their feet, but Caetano Cruz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arnaldo Antunes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Arnaldo Antunes was a little too slow when Arnaldo Urbano got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 34th minute. The score was now 1-2. After a defensive mix-up in Alexrandina EC's zone, Caetano Cruz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnaldo Antunes came out of the goal and Caetano Cruz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Doguinhos Antifascistas's Lino Palmeira got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 43rd minute of the match Raphael Baiano sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hortêncio Silva skillfully saved the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The audience was convinced that Caetano Cruz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnaldo Antunes was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Arnaldo Antunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caetano Cruz, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Caetano Cruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 76 minutes into the match, Alexrandina EC's goal looked a bit too open when Caetano Cruz came free, but Arnaldo Antunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Doguinhos Antifascistas were awarded a corner in the 77th minute after Alexrandina EC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Arnaldo Urbano took the corner. The audience thought a goal was coming when Maicon Pitta got free with Hortêncio Silva in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Toninho Castro got his second yellow card in the match during the 83rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Toninho Castro hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Caetano Cruz in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arnaldo Antunes saved Alexrandina EC from getting behind. Caetano Cruz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Doguinhos Antifascistas's Andrézinho Aparecido got a free kick in the 87th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Caetano Cruz in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnaldo Antunes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 92nd match minute, Alexrandina EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcel Vale to maneuver through the defense. Andrézinho Aparecido kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Caetano Cruz might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arnaldo Antunes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Caetano Cruz ran back to his position shaking his head. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Doguinhos Antifascistas lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
