If Kaká Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. EMAD F.C's Donato de Lima played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kaká Queiroz in the 11th minute of play. After 12 played minutes EMAD F.C got a freekick which was hit by Laércio Madureira. Dedé Pombal kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Cássio Paranaense made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 22ndth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Donato de Lima would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Benta's Josué de Lima played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dorian Vargas in the 23rd minute of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 25 minutes into the game, when Manfredo do Vale put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Benta fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 25th minute. Penalty! In the 27th minute there was a penalty for EMAD F.C. Vicente Nóbrega stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Josué de Lima. 0-1. A hard shot 31 in the game by Cássio Paranaense from a close distance when the talented Donato de Lima managed to make a qualified save. EMAD F.C's players were relieved. 32 minutes into the match, Pedro Luiz Hermes dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Donato de Lima, 1-1. In the 36thth minute of the game Cássio Paranaense who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but EMAD F.C's Donato de Lima was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Benta's Ernesto Lira got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pedro Luiz Hermes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With his leg Donato de Lima managed to avoid a goal in the 44thth minute, when Benta's Cássio Paranaense fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Cássio Paranaense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cássio Paranaense was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Benta getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Rubens Zonta hit a great ball. When Cássio Paranaense came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Benta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cássio Paranaense couldn't finish the play. Josué de Lima made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime de Andrade in the 59th minute of play. Ernesto Lira's late challenge caught a EMAD F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ernesto Lira helped the player get up and apologised. Cássio Paranaense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benta's Cássio Paranaense got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dorian Vargas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Benta's zone, Jaime de Andrade stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Josué de Lima came out of the goal and Jaime de Andrade tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Cássio Paranaense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benta's Ernesto Lira got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benta were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
