Spectators: 7227 (Terracing: 5422, Seating: 1662, VIP seats: 143) Anselmo Trevisan made the kick off and thus started the match. After a rather tough play, Goulart's Glauco Barral got a free kick in the 5th minute. Carlos Eduardo Rosado, 6 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 10 minutes into the game, GD Atlântico's Régis Sena nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sílvio Sabóia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Durvalino Pirani made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Yan Pinheiro sent off a good shot on target. Amauri Sabóia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sílvio Sabóia having to interfere. If Régis Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of GD Atlântico booed when Goulart was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Glauco Barral didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute Amauri Sabóia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sílvio Sabóia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th minute of the match Cássio Alves shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Durvalino Pirani showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Sílvio Sabóia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amauri Sabóia in the 27th minute of play. Yan Pinheiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Durvalino Pirani having to interfere. Yan Pinheiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 41st match minute, GD Atlântico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nilton de Andrade to maneuver through the defense. In the 43rd minute, Régis Sena left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The GD Atlântico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. With a little luck, GD Atlântico's Durvalino Pirani got control of the ball when Yan Pinheiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Régis Sena to make the kick off. Régis Sena's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sílvio Sabóia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. Yan Pinheiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Durvalino Pirani having to interfere. In the 60th minute Yan Pinheiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Durvalino Pirani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Régis Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sílvio Sabóia having to interfere. Carlos Fernando Ribeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the match, Goulart's goalkeeper Sílvio Sabóia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Amauri Sabóia. If Yan Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Alberto de Azevedo hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Durvalino Pirani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anselmo Trevisan in the 80th minute of play. Amauri Sabóia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Sílvio Sabóia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 84th minute, Glauco Barral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 84th minute of the match Carlos Eduardo Rosado shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sílvio Sabóia showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 89 minutes, Carlos Eduardo Rosado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the GD Atlântico and the Goulart players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee gave Goulart a penalty, 91 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Léo Baiano, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of GD Atlântico's Durvalino Pirani. 1-2. After 95 played minutes Goulart got a freekick which was hit by Hortêncio Cordeiro. Sílvio Sabóia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Amauri Sabóia in the 98th minute.
