Amílton Freitas succeeded in the game's 18th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-2. Gustavo Barreto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Diego Nunes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. Tadeu Cearense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Paulo Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. 46 minutes into the game, Otávio Trancoso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Diego Nunes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

In the 52nd minute Daniel Queiroz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Nunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 54 minutes, Valdir Alvarenga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Divinopolis and the Promissao players grew even worse after the yellow card. Amílton Freitas's late challenge caught a Divinopolis's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Amílton Freitas helped the player get up and apologised. After 71 minutes of play, Divinopolis's Otávio Trancoso made it 4-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Diego Nunes was left in no man's land by his defense there! Amílton Freitas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Tadeu Cearense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Diego Nunes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Otávio Trancoso's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. If Gustavo Barreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 84th match minute, Promissao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernandinho Sabóia to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Promissao's zone, Otávio Trancoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diego Nunes came out of the goal and Otávio Trancoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 88th minute of the match Ricardo Neves shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Diego Nunes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Diego Nunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustavo Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. In the 97th minute Gustavo Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Nunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Divinopolis's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
