Corinthians Paulista's Anselmo Paraibano got control of the ball when Zé Paulo Seco tried to sneak it across the goal line. 12 minutes into the match, Promissao's goal looked a bit too open when João Augusto de Souza came free, but Diego Nunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Promissao's Emanuel Koehler got a free kick in the 15th minute. Diego Nunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Augusto de Souza, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Corinthians Paulista's Guto Vianna got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Promissao's Diego Nunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Augusto de Souza in the 42nd minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, S.C. Corinthians Paulista's goalkeeper Anselmo Paraibano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zé Paulo Seco. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and João Augusto de Souza made a kick off. Anselmo Paraibano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amílton Freitas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amílton Freitas in the 57th minute of play forced S.C. Corinthians Paulista's goalkeeper Anselmo Paraibano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zé Paulo Seco charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The attack was good, but when Amílton Freitas in the 85th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. After some careless play in the S.C. Corinthians Paulista defense, Amílton Freitas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Anselmo Paraibano. The S.C. Corinthians Paulista fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Anselmo Paraibano should have stopped the shot. João Augusto de Souza was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 94th minute. S.C. Corinthians Paulista's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. For all the effort they put into the match, the S.C. Corinthians Paulista players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Promissao.
