Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hortêncio Valle in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Léo de Andrade prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Hortêncio Valle's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Léo de Andrade was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Diamantino Jacinto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when José Augusto Messias made the kick off in the second half. If Erivaldo Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Erivaldo Santana came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Capinzal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erivaldo Santana couldn't finish the play. Içara FC's Diamantino Jacinto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erivaldo Santana in the 59th minute of play. When Cipriano Tepedino fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Capinzal's protests and gave Cipriano Tepedino a yellow card for diving instead. Içara FC's Diamantino Jacinto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erivaldo Santana in the 65th minute of play. In the 66th match minute, Içara FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tadeu Terra to maneuver through the defense. Cipriano Tepedino kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hortêncio Valle in the 93rd minute of play forced Capinzal's goalkeeper Léo de Andrade to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Evaristo Siqueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diamantino Jacinto having to interfere. The Capinzal supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Içara FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Içara FC.
