In the 3rd match minute, Ipaarana AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dudu Maranhense to maneuver through the defense. Emerson Souza charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Emerson Souza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 4th minute, Emerson Souza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fernando Bastos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jardel Sergipano went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Marcelinho Passos hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. 12 minutes into the game, Jardel Sergipano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ipaarana AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cabo Branco FC the free kick. A collision led to Ipaarana AD getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Jardel Sergipano hit a great ball. Julio Soin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fernando Bastos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fred Chaves in the 18th minute of play. Fernando Bastos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jardel Sergipano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd minute Julio Soin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vladimir Alvarenga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Soin in the 38thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Vladimir Alvarenga, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Paul Bocșan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 41 minutes into the match, Ipaarana AD's goalkeeper Vladimir Alvarenga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cipriano Baptista. Julio Soin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Vladimir Alvarenga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julio Soin got free with Vladimir Alvarenga in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After the first half Ipaarana AD were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Cipriano Baptista's late challenge caught a Ipaarana AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cipriano Baptista helped the player get up and apologised. Cipriano Baptista hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cauan Montenegro in the 54th minute of play forced Cabo Branco FC's goalkeeper Fernando Bastos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Paul Bocșan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd match minute, Ipaarana AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fred Chaves to maneuver through the defense. When Julio Soin came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Cabo Branco FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julio Soin couldn't finish the play. Cabo Branco FC's Julio Soin got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 80 minutes, Julio Soin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cabo Branco FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julio Soin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cabo Branco FC's Marcelinho Passos pulled a muscle in his leg after 83 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 83 minutes, Erik Nunes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ipaarana AD and the Cabo Branco FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 85th minute, Cipriano Baptista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paul Bocșan in the 87th minute of play forced Ipaarana AD's goalkeeper Vladimir Alvarenga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Paul Bocșan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Soin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chants of Ipaarana AD echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Cabo Branco FC had held the ball for most of the match.
