After a defensive mix-up in AA Sempre Nós FC's zone, Fernandinho Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sebastião Mota came out of the goal and Fernandinho Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sebastião Mota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernandinho Montenegro in the 6th minute of the match. Fernandinho Montenegro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sebastião Mota having to make a save. AA Sempre Nós FC's Sebastião Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernandinho Montenegro in the 10th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Evandro Rocha could shoot a difficult shot in the 12th minute, which Carlos Augusto Lopez however easily saved by the left post. Josué Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Augusto Lopez having to interfere. In the 16th minute, AA Sempre Nós FC's Evandro Rocha dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Evandro Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot. AA Sempre Nós FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Evandro Rocha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Augusto Lopez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fernandinho Montenegro in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sebastião Mota prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Amauri Trancoso fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AA Sempre Nós FC's protests and gave Amauri Trancoso a yellow card for diving instead. In the 27th minute, Amauri Trancoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Clube Atlético Piracicaba's Paulão Antunes got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fernandinho Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Sebastião Mota tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37th minute, one of AA Sempre Nós FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for AA Sempre Nós FC. Afonsinho Tavares walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After having played for 40 minutes, Fernandinho Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clube Atlético Piracicaba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fernandinho Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gilmar da Cunha made in the 43rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Clube Atlético Piracicaba's Paulão Antunes.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Josué Sena stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sebastião Mota made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fernandinho Montenegro in the 76th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fernandinho Montenegro got free with Sebastião Mota in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Paulão Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 81 minutes of play AA Sempre Nós FC's Amauri Trancoso was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to AA Sempre Nós FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Amauri Trancoso hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, Fernandinho Montenegro put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Sebastião Mota. After having played for 88 minutes, Fernandinho Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clube Atlético Piracicaba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fernandinho Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Afonsinho Tavares was slow to take the kick. During this time Clube Atlético Piracicaba's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Afonsinho Tavares got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Sebastião Mota quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The attack was good, but when Fernandinho Montenegro in the 92nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. When Paulão Antunes came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Clube Atlético Piracicaba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulão Antunes couldn't finish the play. When the match was over Clube Atlético Piracicaba could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than AA Sempre Nós FC throughout the match.
