Candial's players were relieved. 30 minutes into the game, Sandro Pinheiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tupandi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Candial the free kick. The supporters of Candial booed when Tupandi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sandro Pinheiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Andrézinho Cearense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Francisco Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34th match minute, Candial was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabiano Ramos to maneuver through the defense. 37 minutes into the match, Candial's goal looked a bit too open when Andrézinho Cearense came free, but Francisco Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Christian Vasconcelos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Belmiro Proença having to interfere. Álvaro Matos's late challenge caught a Candial's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Álvaro Matos helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Candial booed when Tupandi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Álvaro Matos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Belmiro Proença didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Caco da Rocha went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Sandro Pinheiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The wind increased when Andrézinho Cearense made the kick off in the second half. When Andrézinho Cearense came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Tupandi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andrézinho Cearense couldn't finish the play. In the 56th minute Sandro Pinheiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisco Reis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andrézinho Cearense blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Francisco Reis having to make a save. In the 76th minute, Andrézinho Cearense left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tupandi fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 81 minutes into the match, Andrézinho Cearense had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Francisco Reis. Candial's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Andrézinho Cearense was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. When Sandro Pinheiro came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Tupandi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sandro Pinheiro couldn't finish the play. In the 89thth minute of the game Andrézinho Cearense who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Candial's Francisco Reis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Tupandi's Belmiro Proença got control of the ball when Christian Vasconcelos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Andrézinho Cearense's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Francisco Reis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Candial players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Tupandi.
