Clube Atlético Piracicaba's Fernandinho Montenegro was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 5th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. In the 12th minute, Paulão Antunes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 13 minutes into the game, Fernandinho Montenegro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Clube Atlético Piracicaba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alemquer EC the free kick. Fernandinho Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Fernandinho Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinho Medeiros having to interfere. Fernandinho Montenegros short, quick shot in the 18thth minute got Claudinho Medeiros to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fernandinho Montenegro in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Claudinho Medeiros prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Anísio Mendes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carlos Augusto Lopez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Carlos Augusto Lopez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudinho Paulista, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Alemquer EC's zone, Marcus Melo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudinho Medeiros came out of the goal and Marcus Melo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 40 minutes, Fernandinho Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clube Atlético Piracicaba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fernandinho Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Claudinho Medeiros stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fernandinho Montenegro's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. Fernandinho Montenegro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paulão Antunes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Claudinho Medeiros having to make a save.

If Anísio Mendes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claudinho Medeiros stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fernandinho Montenegro's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Alemquer EC's zone, Paulão Antunes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudinho Medeiros came out of the goal and Paulão Antunes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Claudinho Paulista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernandinho Montenegro in the 68th minute of play forced Alemquer EC's goalkeeper Claudinho Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 70th minute of the game. One of Clube Atlético Piracicaba:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Alemquer EC:s goal. Lenílson Almeida placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Claudinho Paulista struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Carlos Augusto Lopez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alemquer EC. In the 75th minute, Alemquer EC's Claudinho Paulista dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Claudinho Medeiros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernandinho Montenegro in the 81st minute of the match. In the 83rd minute Fernandinho Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudinho Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Claudinho Medeiros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulão Antunes in the 85th minute of the match. Claudinho Medeiros was left in no man's land by his defense there! It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Clube Atlético Piracicaba had played much better football throughout.
