Sérgio Bastos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agnaldo Donatello in the 4th minute of the match. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Praia Clube's zone, Agnaldo Donatello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sérgio Bastos came out of the goal and Agnaldo Donatello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jeferson Cosme made a kick off. Jeferson Cosme recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Maurício Mattos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonçalo Vinhas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 60th minute, but Sérgio Bastos got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Praia Clube hanging dry this time. After a rather tough play, Praia Clube's Thiago Paulista got a free kick in the 61st minute. After having played for 62 minutes, Jeferson Cosme managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Serrolandia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jeferson Cosme was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Praia Clube's Manuel Porto got a free kick in the 69th minute. Jeferson Cosme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sérgio Bastos having to interfere. If Agnaldo Donatello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
