The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Haroldo Marquez during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cipriano Proença in the 9th minute of play forced Praia Clube's goalkeeper Sérgio Bastos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. César Sanches received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Sérgio Bastos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Tijuco FC's zone, Gonçalo Vinhas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luan Luz came out of the goal and Gonçalo Vinhas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sérgio Bastos came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Tijuco FC's César Sanches. But to his dismay, César Sanches quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 20th minute, Cipriano Proença reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sérgio Bastos. The goal made the score 2-0. Paulinho Penha, 24 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 27th minute, César Sanches fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Sérgio Bastos, passed just outside the right post. 28 minutes into the game, André Luiz Ceresso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tijuco FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Praia Clube the free kick. In the 28th minute, one of Tijuco FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Tijuco FC. If César Sanches had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Fabiano Figueiredo kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Praia Clube's goalkeeper Sérgio Bastos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gonçalo Vinhas to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cipriano Proença in the 54th minute of play forced Praia Clube's goalkeeper Sérgio Bastos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Praia Clube booed when Tijuco FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lino de Salles didn't get a good kick on the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Tijuco FC fully deserved thier win.
