Mário Capixaba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Pedro Dias having to interfere. If Leopoldo Moura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 14 minutes into the match, Uruana's goalkeeper Armandinho Pinho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by João Augusto Azevedo. When Leopoldo Moura came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Uruana fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leopoldo Moura couldn't finish the play. In the 22nd minute, Fred Leal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute, Mário Capixaba got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leopoldo Moura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 33 minutes, Rogério Secco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Europe F.C. and the Uruana players grew even worse after the yellow card. Uruana's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mário Capixaba was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Uruana's Armandinho Pinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Augusto Azevedo in the 56th minute of play. 1-1 became the score in the 60th minute when João Augusto Azevedo elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 65 minutes into the game, Leopoldo Moura was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Uruana's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Europe F.C. the free kick. In the 65th match minute, Uruana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leopoldo Moura to maneuver through the defense. Armandinho Pinho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Almir Lucas's shot from short distance in the 98th minute. Uruana were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Europe F.C. to leave the ground with a draw.
