The supporters of Canoa SS booed when Charlie Bravo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dé Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 7th minute Silvinho da Fonseca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandro Barbosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zeca Quadros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Nelson Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 11 minutes, Silvinho da Fonseca mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Canoa SS and the Charlie Bravo FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Dedé Mello fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Canoa SS's protests and gave Dedé Mello a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Canoa SS's Dedé Mello got a free kick in the 15th minute. Oswaldo Neto struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Sandro Barbosa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canoa SS. Oswaldo Neto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandro Barbosa having to interfere. Sandro Barbosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dedé Mello, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Dé Carvalho hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. After 33 played minutes Charlie Bravo FC got a freekick which was hit by Enio Fantini. Zeca Quadros charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zeca Quadros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Charlie Bravo FC's Zeca Quadros got a free kick in the 34th minute. After having played for 35 minutes, Dedé Mello managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Canoa SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dedé Mello was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zeca Quadros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nelson Costa having to interfere. 42 minutes into the match, Charlie Bravo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dedé Mello came free, but Sandro Barbosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Charlie Bravo FC's Sandro Barbosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oswaldo Neto in the 44th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Enio Fantini stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Nelson Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enio Fantini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Charlie Bravo FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Canoa SS the free kick. Nelson Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zeca Quadros in the 61st minute of the match. Sandro Barbosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dedé Mello in the 68th minute of play. In the 71st minute Enio Fantini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nelson Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 73rd minute Dedé Mello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandro Barbosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Canoa SS's Oswaldo Neto was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 97th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The Charlie Bravo FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Canoa SS's performance. The match ended with a win for Canoa SS.
