Alexsandro Sarmento was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Ezequiel Schmidt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mature's supporters rose to their feet, but Ezequiel Schmidt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claudinho Velloso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. João Vítor Arruda kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by João Vítor Arruda during the 28th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when André Luiz Barros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, André Luiz Barros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Ezequiel Schmidt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ezequiel Schmidt struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Claudinho Velloso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mature. Vivaldo Camargo might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alexsandro Sarmento. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vivaldo Camargo ran back to his position shaking his head.
