After a defensive mix-up in Fastama Top FC's zone, Leandro Mello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Cardozo came out of the goal and Leandro Mello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 14th minute of the match, Cláudio Rosa got a very nice opportunity to score, but Romeu Dionísio was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 16thth minute of the game Leandro Mello who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fastama Top FC's Luís Cardozo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Fastama Top FC's Cléberson Trancoso got a free kick in the 17th minute. Leandro Mello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Leandro Mello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Cardozo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilton Pernambucano, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Wilton Pernambucano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Luís Cardozo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leandro Mello struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Luís Cardozo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maroins EC. Luís Cardozo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leandro Mello, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leandro Mello to make the kick off. Fastama Top FC's Cláudio Rosa got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 58th minute Gabriel Linhares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeu Dionísio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gabriel Linhares in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Romeu Dionísio saved Maroins EC from getting behind. A hard shot 64 in the game by Pedro Paulo Brodel from a close distance when the talented Luís Cardozo managed to make a qualified save. Fastama Top FC's players were relieved. Cláudio Rosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Romeu Dionísio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cláudio Rosa in the 68th minute of play. Gabriel Linhares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Gabriel Linhares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romeu Dionísio having to interfere. In the 74th minute Gabriel Linhares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeu Dionísio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Fastama Top FC booed when Maroins EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilton Pernambucano didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match clock showed 79 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Gabriel Linhares sped through Maroins EC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Romeu Dionísio. Romeu Dionísio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cláudio Rosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wilton Pernambucano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maroins EC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
