Gabriel Félix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charles Marinho having to interfere. The supporters of Botafogo BA booed when Tupiniquins Brasil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Delfim Aguiar didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elder Ortiz in the 83rd minute of play forced Botafogo BA's goalkeeper Charles Marinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Tupiniquins Brasil getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Gabriel Félix hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Botafogo BA defense, Gustavo Marquez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Charles Marinho. The Botafogo BA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Charles Marinho should have stopped the shot. Charles Marinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Donatello, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Botafogo BA's Charles Marinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elder Ortiz in the 93rd minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Botafogo BA eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
