Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Ituassu FC's Alexandre Pires started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Macazeira's zone, Alexandre Pires stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Macazeira's Délio Fantini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Júlio Antunes in the 12th minute of play. Ituassu FC's Alexandre Pires got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 20 minutes into the game, Eusébio Bezerra recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Edmundo Aguiar. Eusébio Bezerra showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Eusébio Bezerra was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 23rd minute. Macazeira's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 27th minute, Jairo Cardoso left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Macazeira fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Ituassu FC's Manfredo Maranhense got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eusébio Bezerra in the 34th minute of play forced Ituassu FC's goalkeeper Edmundo Aguiar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 35 minutes into the game, Alexandre Pires cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eusébio Bezerra in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edmundo Aguiar saved Ituassu FC from getting behind. Edmundo Aguiar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jairo Cardoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute.
