Jacinto Trevisan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vitório Velloso having to interfere. Régis Prado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 25 minutes, Jacinto Trevisan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Base Esporte Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jacinto Trevisan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. João Adolfo Lira hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Base Esporte Clube's Wiliam Bastos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elano Oliveira in the 34th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 36 minutes, Vitório Velloso successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Narciso Linhares might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vitório Velloso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. In the 42nd match minute, Nacional Futebol Alagoas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedrinho Aparecido to maneuver through the defense. Nacional Futebol Alagoas's Vitório Velloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reynaldo Araújo in the 43rd minute of play. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Régis Prado was the one to do the kick off. Base Esporte Clube's Wiliam Bastos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Base Esporte Clube from getting a goal against them. Régis Prado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 64 minutes, Fabinho Maranhense mouthed his way into the referee's book.
