BANZAI TIMAO FC's Samuca Trancoso got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 17th minute, Dráuzio Ceresso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 21 minutes into the match, Formosa's goal looked a bit too open when Samuca Trancoso came free, but Gláuber Miranda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Zé Paulo Secco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gláuber Miranda was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After a rather tough play, BANZAI TIMAO FC's Pedro Paulo Oliveira got a free kick in the 27th minute. When Formosa's Dráuzio Ceresso, in the 32nd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Formosa. In the 33rd minute, Ronaldo Lara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 34 minutes into the match, Celso Souto notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of BANZAI TIMAO FC's Eliézer Brodel. Eliézer Brodel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Zé Paulo Secco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rogério Fonseca kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. In the 43rd minute, Zé Paulo Secco made a precise shot to the right of Gláuber Miranda. Formosa's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Celso Souto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gláuber Miranda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuca Trancoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Formosa's Gláuber Miranda proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Formosa from getting a goal against them. Rogério Fonseca kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. The supporters of BANZAI TIMAO FC booed when Formosa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cipriano Barros didn't get a good kick on the ball. The corner led BANZAI TIMAO FC's Vitório Travassos to fire away a dangerous shot which Gláuber Miranda despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Formosa's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. The BANZAI TIMAO FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
