After 10 played minutes S.C Aracatuba got a freekick which was hit by Christiano Ceresso. Gláuber Miranda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valério da Cunha in the 15th minute of play. After 31 played minutes S.C Aracatuba got a freekick which was hit by Acácio Trigo. After recieving a nice pass, Formosa's Igor Braga tried to score from far away in the 32nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. If Valério da Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dário de Senna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celso Souto, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Celso Souto to make the kick off. Ramiro Trigo struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Gláuber Miranda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for S.C Aracatuba. When Alexsandro Vinhas fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Formosa's protests and gave Alexsandro Vinhas a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Formosa getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Alexsandro Vinhas hit a great ball. With a little luck, Formosa's Gláuber Miranda got control of the ball when Ramiro Trigo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 83rd minute, Valério da Cunha fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Gláuber Miranda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valério da Cunha in the 85th minute of play. Valério da Cunha received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gláuber Miranda came out and tried to block the shot, but Valério da Cunha slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 87th minute. After a rather tough play, S.C Aracatuba's Acácio Trigo got a free kick in the 92nd minute. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
